Enthusiastic Pygmie fans have launched a group at thefacebook.com devoted to The Velcro Pygmies. It is exclusively available to Auburn students and Alums (sorry Tide and Vol fans).

This year The Velcro Pygmies will change a 12 year Derby tradition. The band will NOT be performing at The Phoenix Hill Tavern. Many people look forward to spending the wee hours of the night with Louisville's favorite rock band however there will be no 6 AM rock n roll this year.

While cleaning out the Velcro Pygmie archives a tape was found containing never before released material of the band. This was captured in the band's hometown of Louisville KY while performing at The Phoenix Hill Tavern.

In a complete surprise to the band Target picked up the Pygmies' new CD and is now selling it on their web site. The sales generated from the web site will determine whether or not they decide to carry LOP store wide. Feel free to do your part and pick up 10 or 12 of them.

Blake "The Blazeman" Baumeier played his final performance with Jimmy, Chris, Pete and Cam this past weekend at Harpole's in Evansville IN. Blake's final performance was based on the date (Feb 7th) and not as a result of the venue.

It took 13 years but finally The Velcro Pygmies were invited to headline the prestigious Waterfront Chow Wagon. For those of you reading this that aren't aware of what exactly a Chow Wagon is let me bring you up to speed. As a part of the Kentucky Derby Festival each year multiple locations are set up with beer, food, beer, music, beer, silly hats, and more beer. Admission is free as long as you are wearing an official Derby Pin.

Pygmie production guru and soundman extraordinaire Pete Fitzgerald has involved the band in a new adventure sport known as "geocaching". Geocaching involves the use of the Global Positioning System satellites (GPS) and a GPS receiver.
